The Waterford St Patrick's Day Parade Celebration is always lively and full of fun for all ages. The theme of the 2016 Parade is "The Three Sisters 2020 – Celebrating Waterford's Diverse Culture". The Parade will celebrate the people, culture and heritage of Waterford, past and present.
The Parade starts at 1pm and winds its way along Waterford's quays to the reviewing stand on the Mall. Expect to be entertained and enthralled by marching bands, colourful floats and the unique hospitality of Waterford people. Of course, Waterford's legendary street art specialists Spraoi will be on hand to add to the festivities!
There will be a full programme of events in the city centre over the course of the day, including a music stage in John Robert's Square, a Community Showcase, a play area for the young and a Treasure Hunt.
Festivities will commence on the evening of 16 March with a concert in the historic Christchurch Cathedral by a wonderful women's choir from the University of Northern Iowa. Join in the party!
