Kerry Film Festival (KFF) is an internationally recognized short film festival which takes place across the County of Kerry each October. KFF is renowned for celebrating the work of young filmmaking talent through a well established and lively short film competition that has been supported and endorsed by luminaries from the world of film such as Cillian Murphy, director Paul Greengrass, Jeremy Irons, Liam Neeson, and Gabriel Byrne. In addition the festival presents a whole host of screenings lighting up cinema screens from Tralee to Waterville with something on offer for everyone. Over the past 15 years KFF has become a vital element of Kerry’s cultural landscape offering a unique film experience to the local community as well as creating a ‘must attend’ cultural tourism event for visitors to the county.Alongside a comprehensive festival programme KFF prides itself on being a festival for the whole county with screenings taking place in Tralee, Killarney, Cahirsiveen, Dingle, Waterville and Kenmare, among others and by operating year round initiatives such as the KFF education screening programme aimed at primary, secondary and third level students and our highly anticipated monthly Silver Screenings aimed at older audiences. KFF is also pleased to run our Secret Cine Club, which usually takes place at the last Thursday of each month. As well as a programme filled with well loved classics and contemporary world cinema titles, this film Club has an added extra twist with each screening taking place in unique and unusual venues across the county.The Kerry Film Festival has an electric atmosphere created year on year by the participation of directors, screenwriters, actors and other film professionals that attend the festival and make for a unique cinema going experience, as well as creating a lively forum for exchange. The Kerry Film Festival provides a great opportunity to celebrate cinema and socialize by meeting with other film lovers and being immersed in some of the most provocative, thought provoking and exciting film from the Kingdom of Kerry and the four corners of the globe. This year the festival will begin its cinematic journey in Tralee and then tour to various locations around the county.
